Lucky 11 Studios is the work of Maui, Hawaii designer Chris Skiles. Chris is the Art Director of  Maui Time Weekly, the only independently owned and operated alternative weekly in Maui. In his short tenure as Art Director, Chris has already transitioned the company from Quark 6 to Indesign CS4, redesigned the entire publication for the first time in over 7 years, and prepared the brand of the company for the future both stylistically and technically. Maui Time is leading the way of the digital transition for alternative weeklies, and defining quality for both news and entertainment on a local scale.

Before his time in Maui, Chris was Art Director at the Houston-based ad agency Marion Montgomery, Inc. where he worked on accounts such as Sterling Bank, The City of Sugar Land, GDF Suez Energy, Northstar Healthcare, MetroNational, Greenscape Associates, The Vintage (Master-planned community), The Marcel Group, 3 Men Movers, Texas Public Relations Association, Crowne Plaza, Developer Companies, Betz Companies, The Fort Bend Economic Development Council and University of Houston Clear Lake among many others. Chris has won a Silver Addy at the 2008 Houston Advertising Federation Advertising Awards for his work as the Art Director on the City of Sugar Land account, as well as a “Citation of Excellence” for his work as Art Director on The Vintage account.

Before working in the agency world, Chris served as the Advertising Art Director and Associate Designer for ENVY Publications and Graphic Designer for Regency Publishing. While at ENVY magazine, Chris was one of only two designers to produce two 100+ page magazines each month for Houston and Dallas, as well as manage, traffic and design all advertising for clients in both markets. Chris has worked with clients such as Cadillac, Saturn, Saab, Toyota, Scion, Ford, Ducati, Bell & Ross, Mosaic, HCSS and numerous smaller Houston and Dallas local-owned businesses.

During his tenure at Regency, Chris worked his way through a team of designers to become the top-producing, and lead designer on publications such as Farm & Ranch, Pinnacle and Residence magazines.

Today, Chris brings strong branding, copy writing, design and creativity, as well as multiple years of experience to any project and has a flair for staying ahead of upcoming design trends. He graduated with high honors and a BFA in Advertising Design from Stephen F. Austin State University in 2004, and was President of his school’s chapter of the American Advertising Federation and recipient of multiple awards and accolades.

Recently, Chris has partnered with his fiancée Sabrina Dreyer to bring her Public Relations and Marketing expertise to Lucky 11 to further expand the brand and develop new opportunities for its clients.
