So in this week’s issue of MauiTime we featured a story about Leilani Farms Sanctuary, a animal shelter here in Maui a bit unlike normal shelters. Leilani is home of many different animals from donkeys to chicken, to cats to goats—all rehabilitated by Lauralee Blanchard. The photography was supplied to us from Lauralee, so covers like these always worry me in the beginning—not having control. But, even though the original photo was horizontal, it still cropped pretty decent to make an interesting cover. Little photo work, aging, and simple logo treatment really pull it all together.
