MauiTime 13.20
This was one hell of a week. MauiTime is a pretty small company, and when one member of our team is gone it really brings the stress on the rest of us. That being said, our Calendar Editor Anu Yagi ran into some really serious health concerns over the weekend, and was flown over to Honolulu. But, she had already interviewed writer David Sedaris for our feature this week—so as you can imagine that threw quite the wrench into our semi well-oiled machine. We had several long nights, and one really crazy morning trying to meet the press deadline. But, even though we didn’t receive Anu’s piece until the morning we go to press, I rocked out a pretty sweet look to compliment her amazing story. Truly some of the best work I’ve read. Just goes to show you that in the weekly business, you always have to be on your toes. What should have been a smooth-sailing week became a nightmare real quick. But—with hard work and a little luck—you can still push out a pretty solid issue.
