Maui Time Weekly 13.13
This week we ran a feature about Matt Lane, founder of the Lahaina Town Clean Up. Matt is your average “transplanted, transient surfer” who moved here 6 years ago to surf by day and party by night. But unlike so many others Matt decided to make a difference. Not to promote his business. Not to promote himself. But to actually MAKE a difference in the area. The article is a profile about Matt himself, as well as the organization/event he started where volunteers clean the entire town, educate kids on “being green,” and prepare others in a environmentally-cautious lifestyle.
Not only did I design this cover and do all the “photo-post work,” but I did the photography myself. I am by no means a professional photographer, but I think I pulled off what I had in mind pretty well. The idea was a nice, close-crop portrait with extremely high detail that captures interest, but at the same time shows a bit of his personality. I think in that regard I accomplished this feat, and hopefully you’ll agree.
As always, you can see more from the article here at Maui Time Weekly.
