Well, after a crazy week we finished our “Taste of Maui” issue over here at Maui Time Weekly. The “Taste of Maui” issue is one of our “special issues” in which we highlight the deals restaurants here on the island give to the kama’aina (local residents) in order to help generate a little income in a otherwise slower month after the summer months are over and the tourists are leaving. The idea for this cover was to have a “survival” feel due to the economy of the island (hence the swiss army survival knife) and the subject matter (hence the food utensils). This issue had a larger page-count and larger ad flow, so as you can imagine, this week got pretty crazy, but in the end—I think the issue came out really, really nice.
