My First Maui Time Cover
Aloha folks! It’s been awhile… where do I begin?
Well, I’m now officially living in Maui, Hawaii and working as the Art Director at Maui Time Weekly. Things have been crazy between starting the new job and adjusting to the new area—but both have been amazing. This is the first cover I designed—Volume 13 Issue 9—with an amazing feature story written by the talented Anu Yagi. Last Requests is an article about a day in the life of Maui’s only record store—and how they’re keeping afloat in a dying industry. Obviously, this is a subject matter that was a total “alley-oop” for me, and I think it came out really solid. Be sure to check out more at http://mauitime.com .
I’ll try to do better about keeping everyone up-to-date on how things are going—but it’ll probably be a little hectic for awhile. We’re in the process of doing a “special edition” issue, as well as preparing for a total redesign and program switch (Quark to Indesign). I’ve definitely got my hands full… but am really excited of things to come. Keep checking back for more.
