This week we finished wrapping up our First Annual Wedding Issue, and I think it came out really nice for a first time out. The always-inspiring Sean Michael Hower helped by letting me dig though a plethora of his amazing wedding photos, and after coming across this powerful image of bride Alana Pellegrino, I knew we had our cover. I really wanted to avoid the usual “straight-on bride portrait” that you commonly see on bridal magazines, and also wanted to stay away from the cliché “sunset couple” shot. This photo of Alana works great because it’s powerful, thought-provoking and beautiful. The perfect hawaiian bridal shot for this issue.
