This week we got an interview with Neil Abercrombie, former Congressman for Hawaii, whom will be running for Governor later this year. For our cover concept we wanted to keep it simple, and our best option was to have some sort of portrait. Although I’m not a huge fan of political portraits for a cover, I think this one turned out pretty nice after a bit of photoshop tooling and type treatment. The photo supplied was really nice quality, but it just came across so plain, so I worked a little magic to it to make it look more like a silk-screen printed painting. The color combination works really well with the image, and overall I’m pretty happy with it.
